The Port’s two modern gantry cranes and new mobile harbor crane with grab buckets and hoppers facilitate efficient loading and discharge operations. Our strategic mid-Atlantic location and excellent rail and highway access make us an ideal distribution hub for bulk cargos. In 2011, the Port of Wilmington handled nearly 1.45 million tons of dry bulk ores and minerals including road and industrial salt, petroleum coke, sodium nitrate, and a wide range of other dry bulk materials.
