Port of Wilmington Delaware Brings 5 Fruits A DAY and More |

Saturday, September 22nd, the Port of Wilmington will
participate in the second Wilmington Wellness Day Festival at Rodney
Square. Wilmington Wellness Day is organized by the “5 A Day”
organization, the City of Wilmington and more than 100 local
organizations that promote a healthy lifestyle and healthy diet, through
exhibits, interactive activities, and screen checks. The
Port of Wilmington, the Number One port in the U.S. for fruit and
produce imports, will join the “5 A Day” promotion festival to
promote healthy eating habits and consumption of a minimum of five
pieces of fruit and produce per day. Visitors to the Port’s booth will enjoy fresh Chiquita
bananas, and New Zealand apples and kiwi fruit.
Information about fruit imports through Wilmington and tours of
the Port will be also available. The
Diamond State Port Corporation, which owns and operates the Port of

of a healthy lifestyle through various community organizations and
community programs including the 5 A Day organization, American Heart
Association, the American Cancer Society, and The Delaware Division of
Public Health.
