Port of Wilmington, Delaware Welcomes m/v Höegh Delhi on Her Maiden Voyage Wilmington, Del., March 30, 2007 – The Diamond State Port Corporation (DSPC) will welcome the recently christened m/v HÖEGH Delhi on Saturday, March 31, 2007 on her maiden voyage to the Port of Wilmington, Delaware. HÖEGH Autoliners’ newest Ro/Ro (Roll on Roll off) and PCTC (Pure Car & Truck Carrier) vessel is the largest of her type in the world. She can carry more than 7000 passenger cars, and anything on wheels up to five meters in height and 150 metric tons in weight. m/v HÖEGH Delhi was constructed by ULJANIK d.d. shipyard in Croatia, for P.D. GRAM & CO. AS from Oslo, and is under long-term contract to HÖEGH Autoliners.

The arrival of the m/v HÖEGH Delhi in Wilmington, General Motors (GM) export hub for the Middle East, solidifies a 30-year relationship between the Port of Wilmington and HÖEGH Autoliners. “In the past few years, exports of GM and other vehicles to the Middle East have substantiality increased through Wilmington due to HÖEGH Autoliners’ commitment to support this strong trade, AutoPort’s superb vehicle processing, and the Port’s fantastic transportation infrastructure and productive and efficient labor”, remarked DSPC Executive Director, Gene Bailey. The Port of Wilmington provides a state-of-the-art Auto & RoRo berth on the Delaware River. A dedicated roadway system links the berth to vehicle staging and processing facilities both on and adjacent to the terminal. In 2006, HÖEGH Autoliners made more than 60 port calls to Wilmington loading close to 80,000 vehicles bound to the Middle East. On her maiden voyage to Wilmington, she will load new GM vehicles, previously owned vehicles, as well as high and heavy rolling cargoes such as Caterpillar engines and parts destined to Valencia, Beirut, Jeddah, Muscat, and Dammam. The m/v HÖEGH Delhi can achieve a service speed of 19.6 knots, and features 13 decks, two of which are hoistable. She is 200 m long and 32.26 m wide; and sails on a draft of 8.8 m.
